Mordant - Protein fibers
Aluminum Potassium Sulfate Powder for dyeing, sold by the pound
A mordant for protein fibers such as silk and wool. Alum is refined from bauxite and is a transparent crystal, resembling salt. Alum has been used since the time of the Egyptians and Earthues alum is refined to remove impurities and to yield clear colors. You can use between 10-20% alum on the weight of fiber.
