The Ashford Kiwi Sliding Hook Flyer (SHFK natural, SHFKL lacquered) is the Kiwi 3's own flyer and whorl, sold on their own. It's a spare for a Kiwi 3 or Kiwi 2, or a second flyer to keep a different yarn on.

The flyer snaps into the front bearing, and the whorl slides onto the flat on the flyer shaft. For faster speeds, the Kiwi High Speed Adapter Kit swaps in its own whorl and band. For bulky yarn, the Kiwi Super Flyer takes its own bigger bobbins.

Both spin the same. Lacquered arrives sealed, and natural is bare wood for you to wax or seal, which protects it from lanolin and marks over the years.
