The Schacht Ladybug is proof that a great spinning wheel doesn't have to be big, heavy, or intimidating. Friendly to beginners but capable enough for experienced spinners, it combines solid Schacht construction with a compact, charming design that's genuinely easy to live with. Built from maple plywood and solid hard maple, it's quiet, smooth, and comfortable to treadle for long sessions. Built-in carrying handles in the legs and a 13.5 lb weight mean you can pick it up and go without a second thought. Take it to a guild meeting, a fiber retreat, or just move it between rooms without any hassle.

Don't let the playful look fool you. The Ladybug supports all three tension modes, Scotch tension, double drive, and bobbin lead, and the full range of Schacht whorls is compatible, giving you ratios from 3.2:1 up to 14.5:1. That's a wide enough range to spin anything from chunky art yarn to fine laceweight. The optional Ladybug Lazy Kate attaches directly to the front leg, keeping everything together when you're on the move.

And somewhere on your wheel, there's a hidden ladybug. Every single one is different.
