Paradise Fibers Superfine White Cashgora Top is 100% cashgora, combed into a ready-to-spin top. At 15 micron it is downy, warm, lustrous and extremely soft, one of the true luxury fibers for handspinners.
Cashgora comes from a cross between a cashmere goat and an angora (mohair) goat. It is not an established breed: breeders cross the two, and each goat has to be evaluated for its fiber, because not every cross produces commercial-grade cashgora. That makes it rare and supply comes and goes. The result combines cashmere's softness and warmth with a touch of mohair's luster and strength.

How it spins
With a short staple, cashgora likes a short forward draw or spinning from the fold, with your hands close together and plenty of twist to hold the fine fibers. It blooms after washing into a soft, lofty yarn. It also blends beautifully with merino or silk on a drum carder or blending board if you want to stretch a small amount.
What to make with it

What is cashgora?
Cashgora is the fiber of a cross between a cashmere goat and an angora goat. It is softer than mohair and a little more lustrous than cashmere.
Is cashgora as soft as cashmere?
Very close. At 15 micron this top is in the same range as fine cashmere and suits next-to-skin garments.
Is it hard to spin?
The short, fine staple takes some practice. Use a short draw, keep your hands close together and add more twist than you would for wool. Blending it with merino makes it easier.
Can I dye it?
Yes. Like other animal fibers it takes acid dyes. Handle it gently in the dye bath to avoid felting.
How is it priced?
