All Caught Up in Cotton Blends
Cotton blends - what are they, why choose them, and all the perks about cotton!
Do you love variegated yarn but don't know how to show off all the colors without overwhelming the design? This pattern is the perfect way to show off those lonely skeins of variegated yarn that have been sitting in your stash. The shawl is knit top down with one color at a time and the other color carried up the side of the shawl. It is finished with a garter border and an I-cord bind off. If you are feeling adventurous, try a picot bind off for a more delicate edging.
You need 400 (650) yards of a fingering weight yarn for the base and 130 (200) yards of a contrasting fingering weight yarn for the loops. The final measurements for the shawl are 14 (17)" x 58 (64)' after blocking; 83" along BO edge for full shawl.
Recommended needle size is US 6 (4.0 mm) and US 4 (3.5 mm) or whatever size needed to obtain gauge. You will also need a tapestry needle for wearing in ends.
Please include your Ravelry ID in your order notes if you would like a copy of the pattern in your Ravelry library.
