We have run out of stock for this item.
Build it with Brick! High quality silk, suitable for papermaking, spinning or adding to felt projects.
Mulberry Silk is also known as Bombyx silk or Cultivated Silk - the best quality silk you can buy! It is produced from the silk worms of the Bombyx Mori Moth. Their diet consists of Mulberry leaves. Mulberry silk is produced in a controlled warm environment.
Each Brick is slightly over 4 ounces.
The silk brick is essentially a wide combed top. The top can be spread out to obtain a wide surface area which is fantastic for dyeing! The silk will absorb dye beautifully. When spinning the silk brick it is best to do so from the fold using smaller pieces that are separated from the top and a high twist.
