The Monarch from SpinOlution is one of the most versatile wheels on the market & sets a standard in production studio spinning. It is SpinOlution's current top production wheel, successor to the earlier MACH III, with a treadle design for professional spinners who spin for hours at a time. The Monarch is also equipped with toe brakes for stopping on a dime.

Want to add a little majesty to your Monarch? SpinOlution offers a range of laser engraving options. Choose 1 or both wheel sides, the base, or the whole Monarch in their current Wildflowers design.

Built to order at SpinOlution's California facility. Approximately 4 to 6 weeks from order to ship.

At 25 pounds, the Monarch is SpinOlution's heaviest wheel and is built to anchor a studio spot, not to travel with. It is not rated for airline travel; the Tie Strap and Wheels in the complete packages are for rolling it locally.

One of our favorite features of the SpinOlution wheel collection is the Magnetic Hook Orifice & Bobbins. Set-up is easy & you'll be spinning in no time with your Monarch!

Now ships with the 2026 birch-tone 3D-printed PETG whorl. Same ratios as the 2023 to 2025 black PETG whorl.

The open hook orifice allows you to spin bulky, ply creative, or add embellishments. A tube orifice accessory is also available to add to any flyer head if you prefer spinning with a closed orifice.

Included (all Monarch models):

  • Monarch Wheel
  • Three Bobbins (bobbin size will vary per wheel style)
  • Flyer (size will vary per wheel style)

Ratios

With the 8, 16 or 32 oz flyer head the Monarch gives five speeds, 1:6 to 1:22.5, and all three heads share one set. The 4A accelerated head runs 12 settings from 1:12 to 1:52. Those are Golden Whorl generation figures (2016 to 2024), from SpinOlution's own Monarch ratio guide. H1 is the largest whorl and the slowest, so a higher number means a smaller, faster whorl.

Ratios come from the flyer head and its whorl rather than from the wheel, so changing heads changes the range you can spin.

SpinOlution has not published verified ratios for the current 3D printed whorl. We will list them once they do, or once we measure one here.
