Ready to take your handspinning game to the next level or just want to play with new-to-you techniques? This is the class for you! Join us for an exploration of various handspinning methods, plying options, and fiber preparations.

The class is a two-session class. In the first class you'll learn about worsted, woolen, and long draft spinning. We'll also cover the first step of fractal spinning. The second class covers plying your fractal spinning, adding embellishments as you ply, and differences between 2-ply, chain-ply, and 3-ply.

Class dates and times: 
Saturday, May 30th, from 10am-noon
Saturday, June 6th, from 10am-noon

Supplies needed:
Spinning wheel in good working order, or borrow one of ours for $10. If you want to borrow a wheel, please notify us at least one week before the class begins.
We will provide you with 1 ounce of fiber for free. You may need to purchase more for the class.

Skill Details: Students should already know how to consistently spin a single-ply yarn. 
Materials Included: 1 ounce of fiber. Additional fiber will be available for purchase
Requirements: Wheels and spindles are available for use and purchase. We recommend you bring your own wheel in good working order along with bobbins, lazy kate and a niddy noddy.

For Yarn, check your pattern's yardage requirements. A standard pair of socks usually takes 100g of fingering weight, while a hat takes about 100g of worsted.For Spinning Fiber, a standard 4oz braid will generally make a pair of socks or a hat.
