Refund policy

Returns

Only regularly priced items may be returned. Sale or discounted items are not able to be returned. Discounted sales are final.

Payments are processed at the time orders are placed. If something you order is out of stock, we'll put it on back-order and ship your order as soon as it comes in. Need to cancel before it ships? Give us a call so we can catch it before it goes out. Orders placed for single items valued over 300 dollars, or highly customized items, are considered special orders and cannot be cancelled once production work has begun. Unless production work has started, an order can be cancelled for a full refund before it ships.

You've got 30 days from the day your order shows up to send it back. Once that window closes, we can't do a refund or exchange. We may still be able to take the return, but no longer at full value.

Anything you send back needs to be unused, still in its original packaging, and in the same shape it showed up in. If it's been put together or changed at all, we can't take it. You must call or email us first to set up a return. This counts wound skeins. If you're not sure you'll use your yarn, please don't have it wound. You can also have just one skein wound, or leave one unwound if you aren't sure it's needed, so you can return it.

Keep your receipt or order confirmation handy, we need it to process your return. And send returns to us, not the manufacturer.

Changed your mind?

This is for returns where the item is fine and you simply don't want it anymore. How your refund works depends on whether your order shipped free, and whether you want your money back or store credit. Store credit keeps the full value of your item, so it's the better deal if you think you'll order from us again.

If you paid for shipping on your order:

  • Money back: we refund the price of the item. The shipping you originally paid isn't refunded, and you cover return shipping.
  • Store credit: we give you the full price of the item as store credit, and we don't deduct return shipping. The shipping you originally paid isn't credited.

If your order shipped free:

  • Money back: we refund the price of the item, minus what we paid to ship it to you, minus return shipping. Free shipping was never actually free on our end, so on a return that cost comes back out.
  • Store credit: we give you the full price of the item as store credit, with no deductions.

For return shipping, you can take the items to your local carrier of choice, or we can give you a label using our prices, which are usually cheaper. If we provide the label, that cost is the return shipping that comes out of a money-back refund.

Something wrong with your order?

This is completely separate from the above. If your item showed up damaged, defective, or it's the wrong item, or anything else that's on us, don't worry about any of the shipping deductions. Just contact us. Depending on the situation we'll do a free refund, send a replacement, or send whatever's needed to make it right, and we'll cover return shipping if the item has to come back to us.

Partial refunds (if applicable)

In some situations only a partial refund is granted, for example an item that isn't in its original condition, is damaged, or is missing parts for reasons not due to our error, or an item returned more than 30 days after delivery.

Return policy abuse

If we find our return policy is being abused for any reason, we may have to limit you to store credit refunds only if we can't reach an agreement.

Refunds

When your return reaches us we'll look it over, email you to confirm it arrived, and let you know whether it's approved. Approved refunds and store credit usually go out within 5 days. Money back goes to your original payment method, and store credit is yours to use whenever you order next.

Free Shipping (if applicable)

Free shipping orders go out the most economical way we've got. Free shipping can't be combined with other special offers or discounts. Orders with items longer than 20 inches may have an added handling fee that helps cover the cost of shipping those longer items. If you ever have a question about your shipping charge, contact us and we're happy to help.

Sale items (if applicable)

Only regular priced items can be refunded. Sale items can't be refunded or returned. Sales and promotions apply to in-stock items only. Online sales are for online orders only.

If you're sending something back just because you changed your mind, return shipping is on you. If the return is our fault, we've got it. The shipping charges themselves aren't refundable either way. Sending something back worth more than $75? Use a tracked service or add insurance. We can't refund a return we never receive.

Customs, duties and taxes (international orders)

Ordering from outside the US? You may owe import duties or fees on your shipment. We can sometimes prepay them if you'd rather cover them up front, and we'll usually check with you first. Either way, if you're buying from another country, be ready to pay whatever import fees come up.
