In this two-part class, you’ll learn:
How to cast on and start your first stitches
The knit stitch
How to read a simple pattern and keep track of your rows
How to bind off and seam your mitts, leaving an opening for your thumb
Finishing touches like weaving in ends and blocking
You’ll leave with a finished pair of fingerless mitts, a new hobby, and the confidence to take on your next project!
Skill Level: No experience needed, total beginners welcome.
Supplies Needed:
Worsted-weight yarn (100 yds), US 7 or 8 straight or circular needles (24–32")
Tapestry needle and scissors
Stitch markers (optional)
Length: Two sessions (1.5 hours each)

A standard pair of socks usually takes 100g of fingering weight, while a hat takes about 100g of worsted.For Spinning Fiber, a standard 4oz braid will generally make a pair of socks or a hat.
