Current Cotton Faves in the Shop!
Today we are taking a dive into some of our favorite cottons in the shop! As the summer sun starts to come out it makes us want to create our next top that is breathable, fun and comfortable. Cotton has all these great perks!
I've seen quite a bit of talk in the fiber community that cotton can be a little intimidating for beginners or if you haven't experimented with it yet, but today we are going to go over some great options if you are wanting to jump in and try out this fun yarn!
Below we have some of the amazing options we recommend that we think are worth the hype
Araucania Huasco Coton Glisten - When this yarn arrived into the shop I was so excited! It has the prettiest glitter/sparkles in the strands that I think would make one of the prettiest summer knits! Araucania Coton Glisten is a fingering weight yarn making it a perfect option if you want something very light and airy!
Mirasol Chirapa Cotton DK - A Recent addition to the store. We find the colors so intriguing! I love a self striping yarn and it's sometimes a little more difficult to find that in a cotton so this was an exciting one to bring into the shop! Chirapa is machine washable, making it an excellent choice for warm weather garments & accessories.
Brown Sheep Cotton Fine Fingering - This is a great versatile cotton yarn. It is a unique blend of soft Pima Cotton and Merino Wool. It is durable, as to be expected from cotton, but has the elasticity from wool. With so many colors to choose from this yarn is perfect for a lacy hoodie or a fancy tank top, this machine washable yarn is sure to hold up to your toughest tests.
Queensland Coastal Cotton Worsted/Light Aran Yarn - I feel like whenever a customer comes in the shop requesting cotton, we always end up taking a peek at the Queensland! It's affordable, it has a lot of color options and it's just a great basic cotton when that's what you need. This yarn will work great for summer garments, baby blankets, and accessories.
Juniper Moon Farm Zooey DK Yarn - We couldn't make a list and leave out Juniper Moon Farm Zooey. It's such a fun blend of cotton and linen! This yarn really comes alive after being washed. The cotton adds a noticeable softness while the linen gives it a boost of strength. This DK weight yarn is perfect for warmer weather knitting due to the cool nature of both fiber types. Zooey is available in a variety of earthy tones.
And if you are wanting a striped version check out Juniper Moon Farms Zooey Stripes - This has all the same perks of the regular Juniper Moon Farm Zooey but it's got that extra color variegation!
This was just a few options that we love and recommend to people over and over! But honestly there are so many great options I would suggest trying out. If you search "Cotton" on our website you will see so many choices! My main advise is don't be scared to go outside your comfort zone and try a cotton!
