Character Study:
The Duchess of Dragonstone is a striking aristocratic noblewoman of the royal court. Wed to the dowdy Duke of Dragonstone, she is a force to be reckoned with and next in line for the throne, a tidbit she will not hesitate to inform you of. Bedecked in glistening jewels, hand carved buttons, and only the finest hand-dyed fabrics and felted jackets, this leading lady boasts a glimmering heart of darkness. Her outward appearance is one of poise and generosity, until you cross her or her schemes. A large influence in the fashion scene, she works closely with the gem-dripped and silk-robed Maharaj, and the golden-garbed Governor across the sea. Her ties to the Sister give her unlimited access to the church’s funds, her practices of alchemy, and the secrets of the nobility and religious officials. She has been cultivating negotiations with her foreign connections to further her position in the fashion world; however, the Duchess’ plans are put to a halt when the Queen hears of her plans from the frenzied Fraulein. The Queen mysteriously falls gravely ill, allowing the Duchess to continue her schemes.
