Gaia Apple is a warm, earthy mix of rich reds and golden tones. The Shetland wool adds body and a soft, springy texture, while Tussah silk gives a gentle sheen and smooth feel. The colors blend into a heathered, sunset-like fiber that spins beautifully and has plenty of character. Together, they balance into a strong fiber with a wonderful silky drape.
The blend itself is 87% Shetland Wool, but not just one color! We mixed in four to get this delightful red fall tone with backup colors that goes perfectly with the remaining 13% Natural Tussah Silk.

A standard pair of socks usually takes 100g of fingering weight, while a hat takes about 100g of worsted.For Spinning Fiber, a standard 4oz braid will generally make a pair of socks or a hat.
