Ready to start steeking? these color work mitts have been fully kitted up to do just that! Included in this kit is enough Studio Donegal Darnie yarn (all 4 colors) to make the largest size, 1 felting needle, small black foam cube, and pattern.
I love colorwork and mitts, so it seemed like the perfect time to combine them in these fun to knit and steek mitts. With a knit-in steeking section to make it easy to cut and finish, you can easily adjust how deep your “thumb space” is. This small project is a great way to dip your toes into the colorwork pond and also try out steeking without risking a giant project. For even more fun, needle felt the edges of your thumb opening after you steek. When using a different yarn, make sure it is appropriately wooly so you can felt the edges of your steeked cut.
I chose a jaunty selection of colors and a little pop of yellow for my mitts. What colors will you choose?
This pattern is meant for an intermediate to advanced knitter and all those in-between.
Both written and charted directions are included in this pattern. Please read the entire pattern before beginning.
