Fiber Content: Dyed Firestar Nylon

Electricity is a high-voltage neon yellow, the brightest pop in the Firestar range. A few grams blended into a darker fiber read like a streak of light through the yarn or batt, which makes it a favorite for highlights, fluorescent accents, and anywhere a project needs to glow.

What Is Firestar Nylon Top?

Firestar is a fine, combed nylon top with a trilobal fiber cross-section. That three-sided shape catches and reflects light far more than a round fiber does, which gives Firestar its signature shimmer and sparkle. It is smooth, lightweight, and slippery to the touch, so a small amount adds brilliance without adding bulk or changing the hand of your blend. Firestar is 100% nylon, an animal-free, vegan way to add shine.

How to Use It

Pull off a few grams and blend it into wool or other fibers on hand carders, a blending board, or a drum carder, or layer it into rolags and art batts. It spins beautifully as an accent in handspun yarn and adds a glint to both needle felting and wet felting. With a color this bright, a little goes a long way, so start small and add more until the sparkle reads the way you want.
