About this Merino
At 21.5 micron this is a fine, soft Merino that most people can wear next to the skin, including many who find coarser wool scratchy. The 3 to 4 inch staple drafts smoothly on a wheel or a drop spindle, so it is forgiving for newer spinners while still fine enough for lace and next to skin garments. Merino carries a high warmth to weight ratio, wicks moisture away from the body, and stays warm when damp.

How much yarn will 30 pounds of Merino top make?
Worsted weight singles run roughly 900 to 1,000 yards per pound, so a 30 pound bump lands in the neighborhood of 28,000 yards spun at that grist. Spin finer and the yardage climbs from there.
Is this wool superwash?
No. It is untreated, which means it felts and it takes dye without the extra saturation superwash gives.
What color is it?
