The Schacht Travel Spinning Wheel Bobbin is the all-plastic bobbin designed to be lightweight, durable, and affordable. It ships standard with the Sidekick, Ladybug, and Flatiron, and works on the Matchless, so it's the everyday workhorse for any current Schacht wheel.
Use the Travel Bobbin in any drive mode (Scotch tension, double drive, or bobbin lead) at any whorl ratio. Works on either the regular flyer or the Bulky Plyer Flyer. The exception: High Speed and Super High Speed whorls in double drive, which require the High Speed Bobbin.
Why a plastic bobbin?
Most spinners want eight, ten, or twelve bobbins so a project can run from start to finish without stopping to wind off. Maple bobbins are beautiful and pricier; plastic Travel Bobbins are durable, inexpensive, and tough enough to live in a project bag, get knocked around, or end up at the bottom of the wheel cart. Stock up without thinking twice.

A standard pair of socks usually takes 100g of fingering weight, while a hat takes about 100g of worsted.For Spinning Fiber, a standard 4oz braid will generally make a pair of socks or a hat.
