The Extra Slow whorl, which Kromski calls the Jumbo whorl, has the lowest ratios of the four magnetic whorls for the Kromski Fantasia and Sonata Encore. Low ratios put the least twist into each treadle and give you the most time to draft, for thick singles and bulky yarn.

It goes on the wheel's own flyer, so you don't need the jumbo flyer to use it. For a bigger bobbin as well, the Magnetic Jumbo Flyer Set adds a jumbo flyer and a jumbo bobbin that holds 1.6 times a regular one, and it comes with this whorl, so you don't need to buy it separately if you get the set. An original Sonata takes Kromski's magnetic whorls once it has the Magnetic Sonata Flyer Head Set, and all four magnetic whorls are in our Kromski whorl collection.

The Fantasia comes with the Standard Slow whorl, and the Sonata Encore comes with the Standard Slow and the Standard Fast. The Extra Slow and Extra Fast are sold on their own for both wheels.
Yarn that overtwists and won't wind on usually means the ratio is too high for that yarn, so move to the larger groove or a slower whorl. Yarn that pulls apart usually means the ratio is too low, so go faster.
