Fiber Content: 60% Extrafine Merino Wool, 25% Tussah Silk, 15% Nylon

The Poison Dart Frog Blend

I was trekking through the Surinamese rainforest. Humidity like a wool blanket. My guide, a quiet man named Henrique, stopped cold. There, on a bromeliad leaf, sat a creature no larger than my thumbnail... electric blue, midnight black, a shock of yellow so vivid it seemed to hum.

I thought: This belongs on a spindle.

The composition

  • 60% Extra Fine Merino (18.5 micron): black and blue. The kind of softness that makes you question every fiber choice you've ever made.
  • 25% Tussah Silk: glowing yellow. Wild silk. Undomesticated. Like the frog itself.
  • 15% Nylon: blue. For strength. Because beauty without resilience is just a photograph.

The specifications

  • Staple length: 3 to 4 inches
  • Texture: smooth. A whisper of sheen.
  • Hand: silken. Yielding. Yet somehow... defiant.
  • Durability: the nylon sees to that.

The spinning

Lace weight. Worsted. Somewhere in between. It doesn't matter. This blend knows what it wants to be. You're just there to guide it. The silk catches light like a secret. The merino provides loft. The nylon? Quiet confidence.

The applications

  • Socks that demand to be seen
  • A shawl for the woman who enters rooms... and changes them
  • Mittens. Bold ones. The kind that start conversations in Reykjavik.
  • Art yarn, if you're feeling untamed

The truth

Soft enough for bare skin. Strong enough for real life. Colors that refuse to apologize.

The frog survived millions of years looking like this.

Your yarn can too.
