The Standard Slow whorl is the one that comes on the Kromski Fantasia and the Sonata Encore, so it's the spare or the replacement. Its lower ratios put less twist into each treadle and give you more time to draft, which suits thicker yarn and learning to spin.

The Fantasia's flyer is held on by a magnet, so it comes off for a bobbin or whorl change without taking off the drive band. Kromski built the Sonata Encore's magnetic head for easy whorl changes too.
Yarn that overtwists and won't wind on usually means the ratio is too high for that yarn, so move to the larger groove or a slower whorl. Yarn that pulls apart usually means the ratio is too low, so go faster.
