Skitters absolutely lives up to her name — she's the quickest lamb in the flock to dash sideways at the slightest surprise, including her own shadow on more than one occasion. Small but mighty, her fleece may be the lightest in this batch at 1.9 lbs but it is exceptionally fine and soft, with that brilliant first-shearing quality that makes lamb fleece so sought-after by spinners.

Each fleece has been skirted in the grease and is ready for washing with your favorite wool scour. After a good wash, comb or card into batts or roving for beautiful 100% natural, undyed Targhee spinning fiber. Targhee is prized for its fine, uniform crimp, excellent staple length, and soft hand — ideal for next-to-skin garments, fine lace, or any project where loft and warmth matter.

About Amiable Acres: Amiable Acres is a small family farm raising registered Targhee sheep in the Pacific Northwest. Their flock roams lush wooded pastures through all four seasons — you can see that Pacific Northwest sky and towering pines in the background of nearly every farm photo. Lambing season at Amiable Acres is a hands-on, joyful affair: ewes are attentive mothers, lambs are tagged and monitored from day one, and the whole flock shares the same relaxed, curious temperament that Targhees are known for. These fleeces were shorn in 2026 and come directly from the farm.
