The Jenn-E is Louet's portable e-spinner, with a magnetic orifice swap that switches the wheel between Scotch and Irish tension. Pull the orifice off the magnetic mount, swap in the other tension orifice, set the cotton brake band for Scotch or the flyer brake for Irish, and the same three bobbins work in either mode. Tool-free, takes seconds, same wheel for both.
The motor runs 0 to 1800 RPM and the flyer turns at roughly 820 RPM at the top end through the internal reduction, set by a manual dial. The foot pedal is an on-off switch rather than a speed control, so the wheel holds your set speed until you change the dial. A three-position direction toggle handles Z twist for singles, off, and S twist for plying. The Jenn-E runs on the included AC adapter at any 120V or 240V outlet, or on a USB-C battery pack delivering 10 to 18V to the wheel (Louet recommends 12V output) with the supplied USB-C to barrel-jack cable. About 15 hours of spinning on a 15Ah pack.
Designed and built by Louet B.V. in Lochem, the Netherlands. Louet has made spinning wheels continuously since 1974, when Jan Louet Feisser and Clemens Claessen co-founded the company around the original S10.
Choose Your Case
The Jenn-E ships in two carrying configurations. Pick the one that fits how you spin.
-
Wooden Case (SP0104C): Hard wooden carry case that doubles as a built-in lazy kate when opened.
-
Padded Carry Bag (SP0104): Soft padded bag with shoulder strap, top handle, and embroidered Jenn-E logo. Lighter and easier to travel with for spinners who already have a plying setup at home.
The spinner and the included accessories are identical between the two variants. Only the case differs.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does switching between Scotch and Irish tension work?
Two orifices ship with every Jenn-E, one for each tension type. The orifice attaches to the wheel with a magnet, so you pull off the current orifice and press the other one into place. The bobbins are the same for both modes. For Scotch tension you set the cotton brake band against the bobbin; for Irish tension you set the flyer brake.
Will my S10, S17, or Victoria bobbins fit the Jenn-E?
No. The Jenn-E uses a dedicated bobbin family designed for the e-spinner, slightly larger than the standard Louet Irish tension bobbin and not interchangeable with bobbins from any other Louet wheel. Three Jenn-E bobbins are included in the box; additional bobbins are available as Louet SKU SA0155.
Does the Jenn-E come with a battery?
No, the battery is not included. The Jenn-E ships with an AC adapter for plugged-in use and a USB-C to barrel-jack cable for battery use. The wheel accepts 10 to 18V input; Louet recommends a USB-C battery pack rated for 12V output. A 15Ah pack gives about 15 hours of spinning between charges.
Is the foot pedal a speed control or an on-off switch?
An on-off switch. The Jenn-E sets speed by a manual dial that you adjust to your preferred working RPM. The foot pedal then starts and stops the motor at that set speed.
What is the difference between SP0104 and SP0104C?
The wheel and accessories are identical. SP0104C is the Jenn-E with the wooden carry case, which doubles as a built-in lazy kate when opened. SP0104 is the Jenn-E with the padded carry bag, which is lighter and easier to travel with but has no integrated lazy kate.
