Tapestry weaving is one of the oldest and most expressive fiber arts, and the Schacht Tapestry Loom is the ideal tool to explore it. Unlike multi-shaft floor looms, this loom keeps things beautifully simple: a continuous warp is held under tension across the full 25 inch weaving width, so every warp thread stays visible and accessible as you work. That open view is what makes tapestry so intuitive. You weave by hand, color by color, building up images and patterns with complete creative control.

Sheds are formed using heddle bars and string heddles. While traditional tapestry weaving only requires two heddle bars, this loom includes four, giving beginners the freedom to also explore 4-shaft pattern weaving without needing a second loom.

Consistent warp tension is essential to an even, professional-looking tapestry. The adjustable tension beam with thumb screws at each end makes it easy to fine-tune tension at any point during your weaving. The continuous warping system lets you wind a warp up to 60 inch long directly onto the loom, no warping board or reel needed.
