Everything a first knitter needs except the yarn, packed in one zip pouch. You get two pairs of 10 inch Susan Bates Silvalume needles in US 8 (5 mm) and US 10 (6 mm), the two sizes most beginner patterns call for, plus the notions you'd otherwise buy one at a time.
The instruction book teaches casting on, knit, purl and binding off with step by step photos for right and left handed knitters, then puts it to work in 16 easy projects.

For Yarn, check your pattern's yardage requirements. A standard pair of socks usually takes 100g of fingering weight, while a hat takes about 100g of worsted.For Spinning Fiber, a standard 4oz braid will generally make a pair of socks or a hat.
