A1 Grade Mulberry Silk Laps are made from long, fine mulberry silk fibers laid into soft, layered sheets. Mulberry silk is prized for its strength, smooth hand, and natural luster, making it one of the most luxurious fibers available. The fibers have a clean, bright sheen and a fluid drape that adds elegance to any textile project.
A lap is a thin sheet of aligned fibers that can be gently pulled apart and used in layers. Silk laps are especially popular in wet felting, where they create a luminous surface design, or they can be blended with wool and other fibers for spinning to add shine and softness to finished yarn.
Sold by the oz, you may get a very small lap if you only order less than 3oz!

A standard pair of socks usually takes 100g of fingering weight, while a hat takes about 100g of worsted.For Spinning Fiber, a standard 4oz braid will generally make a pair of socks or a hat.
