Cozy Knits is fifty accessory patterns edited by Tanis Gray, with designs from Nancy Marchant, Mary Jane Mucklestone, Faina Goberstein and a long list of others. Hats, cowls, mitts, leg warmers, ponchos, baby cardigans and neck gaiters. It's the book you reach for when you want a finished object this week, not next season.
Everything in it is written for Cascade Pacific and Pacific Chunky. We don't stock the Pacific line, so if you want to knit these exactly as printed you'll be sourcing that yarn somewhere else. Most of the fifty are gauge-driven accessories though, so any worsted or chunky that hits gauge will do, and our Cascade 220 Superwash sits at the same weight if you want a machine-washable swap for the baby knits.
Knit a swatch before you commit to a hat. If it comes out wider than the pattern says at the same needle, you're a looser knitter than the sample and the hat will be too big, which on an accessory you can't easily fix after the fact.

A standard pair of socks usually takes 100g of fingering weight, while a hat takes about 100g of worsted.For Spinning Fiber, a standard 4oz braid will generally make a pair of socks or a hat.
