Carding and combing are pre-spinning treatments to align the fibers which enables you to spin fibers more easily. For the technique of felting or making woolen blankets, carding is essential. Combing straightens the fibers more than carding. This difference determines the character of the spun thread: worsted or woolen-spun. The flicker is a handy tool used to tease locks of fiber in preparation for spinning. The curved paddle of tulip wood is 6 X 10 cm (2 3/8" X 4") and has a less flexible cloth than the other cards. This allows felted ends of the locks to be straightened out. In order to ensure a long life, the teeth on all Lou?t carders are made of high grade plated steel wire.

In the case that our stock levels are too low, your order may need to be either ordered into our warehouse or dropshipped directly to you from Louet in Canada. Should your order be backordered with our vendor, one of our customer service representatives will contact you with delays and shipping information.
Please note that Louet drop-ships are sent via UPS or Fedex and typically arrive within 3-5 business days after being shipped. Please provide a physical address for your order as UPS does not send to PO Boxes. Drop-shipping is not available for international orders at this time so please allow time for your order to reach us before we ship it to you.
