A second warp beam lets you run two warps at once at different tensions. That is what you need when the two warps take up at different rates: a supplementary pattern warp over a ground warp, double weave, or a cloth mixing a stretchy yarn with an inelastic one. On a single beam those fight each other and one warp goes slack.

It mounts onto the Jane in place of the standard back beam arrangement. On the floor stand the beams can move onto the stand, which is also how the Jane goes from roughly 8 to 15 yards of warp up to 25 to 40.

Each beam fits one loom width.
