This is the kit that makes the 8-shaft Jane expandable. It takes the loom from 8 shafts to 16, so the drafts that were out of reach when you bought it come into reach without buying a second loom.
The expandable 8-shaft is built on longer sides than the old fixed 8-shaft, which is what leaves room for the extra shafts. You receive it with the 8 shafts mounted in the front position; this kit supplies the remaining shafts, the parts for all 16 toggles, and the back shelf.
Fit it whenever you are ready. Heddles are separate: the 8-shaft carries 400 to 800 depending on width, and a full 16-shaft carries double.
Each kit fits one loom width.

A standard pair of socks usually takes 100g of fingering weight, while a hat takes about 100g of worsted.For Spinning Fiber, a standard 4oz braid will generally make a pair of socks or a hat.
