Moonlit Fox was one of the two blends in our May 2026 Fiber Club, alongside Nightwatch Owl. It's 75% Merino and 25% Cormo in the colors of a red fox: deep rust, bright fox orange and warm sienna Merino, streaked with creamy undyed Cormo.
Merino gives it softness and an easy draft. Cormo, a fine wool from a Corriedale and Merino cross, adds spring and bounce, so the finished yarn has some life to it instead of lying flat.
Spinning Moonlit Fox
We had it blended lightly so the colors stay in long streaks down the top. Spin it straight from the end and you'll get a yarn that shifts between rust and cream. Split the top lengthwise into a few thinner strips first and the colors mix more closely for a heathered yarn.
Each bag holds about 6 to 8 ounces, enough for a cowl, a hat or a small shawl. It's a good felting wool too, for needle or wet felting.
