Paradise Fibers White Southdown Wool Top is 100% British Southdown wool combed into a smooth, undyed natural white top and sold by the ounce. Southdown is the foundation Down breed behind Suffolk and Hampshire, and its fleece carries the traits the Down family is known for: a dense, springy hand with excellent crimp and loft that gives finished pieces real bounce and resilience.

With a micron count around 28 to 30 and a staple of roughly 3 Inch (80mm), this is a hardwearing wool that holds up to everyday use. Spinners can draft it into lofty, elastic yarns for socks, outerwear, and hardwearing hand knits, while its springy structure makes it a favorite for wet felting and needle felting. It takes dye readily, so the clean white base is a blank canvas for hand dyeing, and it works beautifully for weaving, jumbo knitting, and crochet as well.
