The Victoria is the travel wheel that earns its weight. Eight pounds, folds in two to four minutes with a push-button fold, packs into a carry bag sized for the overhead bin on most airlines. Scotch tension with sliding flyer guides means you can spin laceweight and fine singles on the road, not just demo a wheel for the journey. Lubricated-for-life ball bearings, magnetic flyer connection, double treadle.
The Fully Loaded Package is the Victoria with every Louet add-on already in the case. Three standard bobbins, three high-speed bobbins, three bulky bobbins for the Victoria's 4 oz capacity, the High Speed Flyer Kit that pushes ratios to 1:20, the IRT Art Yarn Head and matching flyer for lockspun singles and beaded plies, the Stand Alone Lazy Kate for plying off the wheel, and the Victoria carry bag. No accessories to chase. Open the case and start spinning.
Made in Lochem in the Netherlands by Louet B.V., a Dutch design studio in continuous wheel production since 1974. The Victoria is the modern Louet, every part engineered for compact travel without giving up the build quality that put Louet on the map. Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Victoria fit in an airline overhead bin?
Yes on most major carriers. Folded to roughly 5.5 x 14.25 x 21.75 In, the Victoria fits the published overhead-bin allowance on most domestic airlines and many international ones. Some regional jets and smaller aircraft have tighter bins; airline policy varies, so confirm with the carrier before you fly. Some spinners pack it under the seat in front instead.
What is the maximum bobbin capacity?
About 4 oz / 100 g per bobbin, including the bulky bobbins in this package. The Victoria is built for fine to medium yarn at travel weight, not for production-volume singles or oversize art yarn. If most of your spinning is bulky and you want longer pulls per bobbin, the S10 family is the better fit. For travel-friendly fine and medium yarn, the Victoria is purpose-built.
Will my S10 bobbins fit the Victoria?
No. The Victoria uses its own Scotch tension bobbin family (SA0104 standard, SA0114 high speed). S10 Irish tension bobbins are mechanically incompatible and do not fit the Victoria flyer. This is the most-mistaken compatibility point in the Louet line, worth checking before you order extra bobbins.
How long does the Victoria take to fold and unfold?
Two to four minutes once you have done it a handful of times. The push-button fold drops the upper frame and the treadles tuck flat against the base; the bobbin and flyer come off in seconds. Pack the included carry bag and you are at the gate.
