2025 Spring & Summer Trends
Spring & Summer 2025 Fiber Art Trends: What’s In and How to Stitch It
Although it might feel like 2025 began only a couple of weeks ago, we are nearly one-third of the way through the year. Daylight Savings Time began on March 9th, and Spring will officially start on the 20th. That means it's time to start planning your warmer weather projects! Whether you're a knitting ninja, crochet czar, felting fiend, or needle-point natural, Spring and summer 2025 will offer an excellent opportunity to flex your creative muscles and try something new! The trend for this season is (ironically) to forgo traditional trends and embrace your individuality. Brighter earth tones have replaced the subtle, nuanced pastels of previous years, a "more is more" mindset has given minimalism the boot, and sustainable options like upcycling, thrifting, and handmade are in vogue. Let's dive into 2025's Spring and Summer Trends!
Maximalism Is Back And Better Than Ever
Vintage influences with modern twists are very hot right now. With grandma-core and maximalism replacing modern chic and Marie Kondo's minimalistic mindset, you can expect to see a lot of The Grandma Square in the coming months. 2025 really is the year to try something new.
-
Feza Alp Premier Worsted is the first yarn that came to my mind for 2025 trends. This novelty worsted-weight yarn will add pizzazz to any project.
-
Madeline Tosh Unicorn Tails is a perfect choice for projects using Granny Squares.

The Jethro Granny Square Cardigan (designed by Tanis Lavallee) is a great project to stay on-trend this season. You can create your own using Madeline Tosh DK yarn.
Nostalgia & Comfort: The Duo We've Been Waiting For
Skirts layered over pants and ultra-low-rise jeans coupled with layers upon layers of camisoles are giving Y2K Chic (and some millennials PTSD). Whether you cringe at the trend or have been anxiously waiting for the day you could bust out your plaid skirt and flared denim jeans, Y2K fashion is very much in vogue this year. Oversized or baggy clothes, form-firring knit tops with ridiculously large, flowing sleeves, velvety soft track-suit sets, and crop-top sweatshirts have made a comeback.
Trending Textures & Colors
As I mentioned previously, Granny Squares are a hot item for 2025. Add textured yarns, openwork designs, stripes, animal prints, vibrant earth tones, and shimmering or sparkling details to the list. This is an excellent opportunity to really let your creativity fly! Channel your inner Miss Frizzle and try your hand at power clashing when you’re planning your patterns. Get a little weird with your work and add some frills or ruffles to your next wearable project. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you have fun and get out of your comfort zone!

Sustainable & Natural Fibers
Eco-friendly choices have been rising in popularity for the past few years; between 2015 and 2025, sustainability went from a peripheral fad to a mainstream staple, and it shows no sign of losing steam. One of the best ways to practice sustainability is to make sure you use up your old yarn and fiber in your stash before restocking. But, if the retail therapy bug has bitted you and just need to satisfy that itch, Paradise Fibers has a large range of natural fibers that feel good to work with and wear and are a great choice for your Spring and Summer projects.

If you’re a spinner, I recommend these fiber blends for eco-friendly crafting: Himalayan Nettle Fiber Top, Paradise Fibers Hemp Roving, and Paradise Fibers Undyed Flax.
