SpinOlution Bobbins

SpinOlution bobbins run 4 oz to 64 oz in Baltic birch, with a magnetic lock and a built-in clip that holds the leader thread. Changing one mid-spin takes seconds. Before you order an 8, 16 or 32 oz though, read the shaft diameter note below, because that's the one that trips people.

Cross-Wheel Compatibility

Bobbins are universal by capacity across wheels with the same flyer shaft diameter. A 16 oz bobbin from one wheel drops into any other SpinOlution running a 16 oz flyer at the matching shaft size. They're sold individually unless the listing says otherwise.

Shaft Diameter, the One That Trips People

The 4, 12 and 64 oz capacities have fixed shaft diameters, so those are straightforward. The 8, 16 and 32 oz come in two diameters, 1/4 In and 3/8 In, because SpinOlution changed the flyer rod between 2017 and 2019. Wheels built before 2017 take 1/4 In. Wheels from 2018 on take 3/8 In. Anything from the transition window can be either, so don't assume from the year alone.

Measure the hole in a bobbin you already own, or the flyer rod itself, before you order. If you'd rather not guess, call us at 509-536-7746 with your wheel and roughly when you bought it and we'll work it out with you. We keep these on the shelf, so a replacement usually goes out the same week.
