The Kromski Faster Flyer gives your Sonata, Prelude or Interlude the fast ratios that fine yarn needs. It's a second flyer with its own whorl, so it spins at higher speeds than your regular flyer, and it takes the regular Kromski bobbins you already have. Kromski makes one Faster Flyer for all three wheels.

Fits The original Kromski Sonata, the Prelude and the Interlude
Ratios on a Sonata 12, 16 and 18:1
Ratios on a Prelude 11, 14.5 and 16.5:1
Ratios on an Interlude 13.3, 17.5 and 20:1
Bobbins Takes the regular Kromski bobbin, sold separately
In the box The Faster Flyer with its whorl built in
Finish Unfinished, Clear, Walnut or Mahogany, to match your wheel

The whorl is part of the flyer, so it goes on in place of your regular flyer with nothing else to change. You can switch back and forth between the two whenever your yarn calls for it.

If your Sonata's flyer head is magnetic, it's a Sonata Encore, and its fast ratios come from the Kromski Extra Fast Magnetic Whorl instead. Every other Kromski flyer is in our Kromski flyer collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fine yarn, from sock and fingering weight down to lace. A higher ratio turns the flyer more times for each treadle, so fine yarn gets the extra twist it needs while you keep a comfortable treadling pace.

Order the finish your wheel has, Unfinished, Clear, Walnut or Mahogany, and the flyer will match it. Kromski turns each piece from solid wood, so expect natural variation, including darker areas or reddish-brown flecks in Unfinished and Clear.
