The Sonata Jumbo Flyer Set is a second, larger flyer for the original Kromski Sonata. It's made for spinning thick singles and plying heavy yarn, with slower ratios and a wide orifice that give thick yarn the gentle twist and the room it needs. Its jumbo bobbin holds 1.6 times what a regular Kromski bobbin does.
If your Sonata's flyer head is magnetic, it's a Sonata Encore, and it takes the Kromski Magnetic Jumbo Flyer Set.
| Fits | The original Kromski Sonata |
| Ratios | 5, 7.5 and 10:1 |
| Orifice | 0.7 in (the regular flyer's is 3/8 in) |
| Bobbin capacity | 300g/10.7oz, about two and a half braids |
| In the box | Jumbo flyer with its whorl built in and one jumbo bobbin |
| Finish | Unfinished, Clear, Walnut or Mahogany, to match your wheel |
The whorl is part of the flyer, so it goes on in place of your regular flyer with nothing else to change.
Extra Kromski Jumbo Bobbins fit this flyer and every other Kromski jumbo flyer, and our Kromski flyer collection shows every Kromski flyer side by side.

Frequently Asked Questions
It's geared for thick yarn and plying, at 5, 7.5 and 10:1. For fine yarn, switch back to your regular Sonata flyer, which runs faster ratios.
Kromski Jumbo Bobbins, in the same four finishes as the set. They fit every Kromski jumbo flyer, so extra ones for plying move between any Kromski wheels with a jumbo flyer.
Order the finish your wheel has, Unfinished, Clear, Walnut or Mahogany, and the set will match it. Kromski turns each piece from solid wood, so expect natural variation, including darker areas or reddish-brown flecks in Unfinished and Clear.
