Sturdy and versatile LeClerc Hand & Electric Single and Double Ended Bobbin Winders.

The Hand Winder is compatible with all Leclerc Bobbins & Leclerc Spools, while the Electric Winder has a single and double ended winder available. The Single works with regular Leclerc 4 In/10cm, 6 In/15cm bobbins, & Leclerc spools, and the double is compatible with all bobbins, spools, pirns between 2.75 In - 8 In (25mm - 20cm).

The Electric Bobbin Winder is available with or without the Tension Device & Counter.

  • About the tension device: The tension device combines four pegs for tensioning along with metal eyes to guide the yarn. These ride on a wooden block that slides back and fourth on a metal shaft. Feed the yarn through the eyes, wrap it around as many pegs as you need to get the proper tension for your yarn, and wind it on the bobbin. As you wind, slide the tension device back and forth to control the build-up of the yarn on the bobbin.

Hand Bobbin Winder - All Leclerc Bobbins & Spools: 6331-1000

  • A light but strong hand bobbin winder with completely covered gear. Tapered plated shaft for all LeClerc bobbins and Leclerc Spools.
  • Clamps to a table top up to 1½" thick.
  • Turning ratio: 1/7.5
  • Wood handle.

Hand Winder Maintenance

The handle is held on by a bolt threaded into the body, with a nut behind it setting the position. Inside the handle, a ring of teeth meshes with the gear on the shaft.

  • Hard to turn? Back the bolt and nut off slightly. Done up too tight, they pinch the handle.
  • Wobbling or unsteady? The bolt has worked its way out. Snug it in, then bring the nut up to hold it.
  • Stiff after long storage? The grease has hardened. Take the nut off, back the bolt out, lift the handle away, and pack the teeth on its inner face with ordinary gear grease.

Reassemble by feel. Run the bolt in until it is just too tight to turn, back it off slightly, and do the nut the same way. You want no effort to turn and no side to side play.
