This fiber was one of two dreamy blends in our July 2026 Retro Ice Cream Shop Fiber Club! The whole box was built around Doyle's, the sweet little retro ice cream shop here in Spokane, all checkered floors, chrome stools, and that happy, carefree 1950s soda fountain feeling. Soda Fountain is our nod to that scene, made to capture the bright, cheerful colors of an old-fashioned soda counter.
We blended it 67% Merino and 33% Falkland. If you have not spun Falkland before, you are in for a treat: Falkland sheep are raised on the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic and are descended from Merino stock, so the two get along beautifully. Falkland is known for its bright white color, soft handle, and consistent quality, and it typically falls in the 24 to 28 micron range, soft enough for next-to-skin garments while still offering real durability and resilience. Together they draft smooth and lofty and spin up into a soft, hard-wearing yarn.
