Fiber preparation is made easy with Ashford Drum Carders. Card and blend fibers and colors quickly and efficiently with this easy to use carder sporting two ratios, 6:1 & 4:1, for even more flexibility and control when carding and blending fleeces, slivers, and more.
Adjustable drum clearance allows you to set the teeth distance for total control of your fiber. The card cloth has wire teeth with a special protective coating and a flexible rubber backing for long life.
The all nylon bearings ensure it is light and easy to turn while the solid Silver Beech hardwood body makes this carder strong and robust. Handy rubber feet prevent it from slipping.
Drum Carder comes assembled and lacquered ready to use.
Use the 6:1 ratio to prepare your fleece. The controlled intake and carding will produce a smooth even batt ready for blending, spinning or felting.
Use the 4:1 ratio to blend sliver, colors and different fiber types consistently into an open and airy batt.
Card 50gm (2oz) batt quickly and efficiently.
TPI Options:
- Fine - 72 point: for finer wools & exotic fibers.
- Superfine - 120 point: for finer wools & luxury fibers.

A standard pair of socks usually takes 100g of fingering weight, while a hat takes about 100g of worsted.For Spinning Fiber, a standard 4oz braid will generally make a pair of socks or a hat.
