The Extra Fast whorl takes the Kromski Minstrel, Symphony and Polonaise to 25:1, past the fastest whorl each wheel comes with. It's the whorl for lace and other very fine yarn, which needs more twist in each treadle than the standard whorls give.

Fits Kromski Minstrel, Symphony and Polonaise
Ratio 25:1
Finish Unfinished, Finished, Walnut or Mahogany

A Symphony or Polonaise owner replacing the fast whorl that came with the wheel wants the Standard Fast whorl, at 16 and 20:1, and a Minstrel owner wants the Minstrel Standard Fast whorl, at 12 and 16:1. Kromski's other whorls are in our Kromski whorl collection, and the rest of what fits your wheel is in our Kromski collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn on sport weight in single drive first and work down to lace, then add the Extra Fast whorl. Once you're comfortable, try double drive for lace. Its lighter pull breaks a fine single far less often.

Yarn that overtwists and won't wind on usually means the ratio is too high for that yarn. Go back to a slower whorl for it, and keep 25:1 for your finest singles.
