The fine-fiber specialist for refined preparation.

The Majacraft Hand Cards in 140 TPI (teeth per inch) are the precision tool for spinners working with fine, short, and luxury fibers. The high-density tooth count is built to grip and align the shortest, slickest fibers, the ones a coarser cloth simply cannot hold onto properly.

Why 140 TPI?

Fine fibers behave differently. Merino, cashmere, fine alpaca, and silk have short staples and a slick hand, and a coarser carding cloth can't keep them engaged. The 140 TPI cloth puts more teeth in contact with each pass, so short fibers stay with the cloth instead of compressing into clumps or shedding through the back. The result is smoother, more uniform rolags and batts, with the finest fibers properly opened and aligned. For luxury blends and lace-weight projects, this tooth density is what separates a good preparation from a great one.

Perfect For

  • Fine wool breeds (Merino, Cormo, Polwarth, Rambouillet)
  • Cashmere, camel down, and other ultra-fine fibers
  • Fine alpaca (suri, baby, royal)
  • Silk, angora, and luxury fiber blends
  • Lace-weight and fine-weight yarn preparation
  • Refined color blending and final passes on prepared top

Thoughtful Design

Like all Majacraft hand cards, the 140 TPI version features lightweight bamboo plywood construction that reduces hand fatigue during extended carding sessions. The curved mounting board and wide, comfortable bamboo handle make them a pleasure to use, while the clean plastic edging (no sharp staples!) ensures safe, snag-free fiber processing.
