Fitting it means swapping your wheel's front flyer bearing for the jumbo bearing in the box, then two screw-in hooks and the guides. The bearing reducer bush in the box lets your standard flyer run in the jumbo bearing, so you can switch between the two without changing bearings again.

Yes. Push the orifice reducer bush from the box into the 5/8 in orifice for finer yarn, and take it out again for bulky yarn.
Both spin the same. Lacquered arrives sealed, and natural is bare wood for you to wax or seal, which protects it from lanolin and marks over the years.
