The Majacraft Little Gem is a full-sized spinning experience in the smallest possible package. Handcrafted from New Zealand Rimu with a bamboo and hardboard drive wheel, it folds completely flat and tucks into its included Majacraft Green carry bag, making it the obvious choice for spinners who travel to guild meetings, classes, or just want a wheel they can take anywhere. Despite its compact footprint, the Little Gem handles any fiber and any spinning technique just as capably as its larger siblings.

What makes the Little Gem mechanically unique is its accelerated drive system. Rather than being connected to the drive wheel by rods like a conventional wheel, the treadles operate on a rolling action over a central crank, similar to bicycle pedals. This drives the wheel through a belt system, spinning the drive wheel around one and a half times faster than a conventional wheel at the same treadling speed. The result is a light, smooth treadle action that makes fine yarn spinning effortless. The spinning head is also fully adjustable in direction, so you can feed fiber straight into the orifice without twisting your body to suit the wheel.

The included Travel Kate holds two bobbins and packs down flat inside the carry bag, so you're ready to ply the moment you arrive anywhere.
