SpinOlution Bee Spinning Wheels

Smooth and quiet, with ergonomic treadling, these busy Bees save energy and time while spinning. This wheel folds down to fit in small luggage and has a Magnetic Hook Orifice and Bobbins, making set-up and take down easy and speedy. It comes as three separate models, each with one flyer size fitted at assembly: Queen Bee (4oz), King Bee (8oz) and Worker Bee (16oz).

Built to order at SpinOlution's California facility. Approximately 4 to 6 weeks from order to ship.

SpinOlution's Bee models fold down to fit in small luggage, which makes them the most travel friendly wheels in the line. SpinOlution revised its guidance in 2020 and no longer promises carry on: check your airline's current size limits before you fly.

Now ships with the 2026 birch-tone 3D-printed PETG whorl. Same ratios as the 2023 to 2025 black PETG whorl, with an updated finish for visual cohesion across the wheel.

The open hook orifice allows you to spin bulky, ply creative, or add embellishments. A tube orifice accessory is also available to add to any flyer head if you prefer spinning with a closed orifice.

Pick Your Bee:

• Queen Bee (4oz): Built for fine yarn on fast ratios. Not suited to extra bulky, the bobbin is too small.
• King Bee (8oz): The middle ground. Handles bulky spinning too, but yardage runs about 10 to 20 yards a skein.
• Worker Bee (16oz): Built for bulky. Fine yarn also works, though the flyer's heavy uptake means cross-lacing to control it.

Ratios

The Bee wheels use three whorls together, a lower left, a lower right and a head whorl, so a few parts give a lot of settings. On the Golden Whorl generation (2016 to 2024), from SpinOlution's own ratio guides: the Queen Bee gives 15 settings from 1:4 to 1:44, the King Bee 12 settings from 1:4 to 1:34, and the Worker Bee 12 settings from 1:4 to 1:18.5.

Each Bee comes with one flyer size and SpinOlution states the Bee flyers cannot be changed, so the model you choose sets both your bobbin capacity and your ratio range.
